Our commitment

Cast Iron Pot is committed to making our online ordering site usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or voice control. We treat accessibility as part of building the site, not as an afterthought.

The standard we aim for

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are the standard most widely referenced for making web content accessible to people with a broad range of disabilities.

Conformance status

We describe our site as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard, and some parts do not yet.

We audit the site regularly, keep a list of the areas that fall short, and work through them. We would rather tell you where we stand than claim more than we have verified.

Ways we support access

  • Every image that carries meaning has a text description.
  • The site can be operated with a keyboard alone, and a “skip to main content” link lets you bypass the header.
  • Page structure uses proper landmarks and headings so screen reader users can navigate by section.
  • Animation is reduced automatically if your device is set to minimize motion.
  • The site adapts to larger text sizes and to different screen sizes.

If you run into something on this site you cannot use, we want to hear about it. Please contact the store directly using the phone number shown on its page, and tell us:

  • The page you were on.
  • What you were trying to do.
  • What got in your way, and the assistive technology or browser you were using, if you know it.

We aim to respond within five business days. If something blocks you from placing an order, you can always order by phone and we will help you directly.

Limitations

Some content on this site comes from third parties, such as embedded maps and our payment provider's card entry form. We do not control how those are built, but we choose providers with accessibility in mind and will help you complete any step that gives you trouble.
